The article below, "Tale of Two Bitches"
was written for the DPCA Centennial Celebration and DPCA forwarded it to
AKC for entry into the AKC 'S Award for Canine Excellence (ACE).
This is the Award that is presented annually at Westminister Dog Show.
They
select one dog from the 5 categories of law enforcement, therapy, service,
search and rescue and exemplary companion.
The dog
in the story, "Vinny" is a finalist and just making the "List" is a Superb
Honor.
I have known Pat Policastro for 20 years and have always admired her
commitment and ability to bridge the gap between canines and humans.
She has unlocked the door to the healing power of dogs. She has a
wonderful way with dogs and people as well and she is always involved in
Community Service.
Pat and her
dogs have done so much to reach out to those less fortunate and in need
that I believe they are most deserving of this award and at the very least
to be on the most prestigious list. My hat is off to both
Pat and Vinny, two Bitches I am Very Proud to know!
